ITAR
APEM is ITAR registered. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) regulations dictate that information and material pertaining to defense and military related technologies (for items listed on the U.S. Munitions List) may only be shared with U.S. persons unless authorization from the Department of State is received or a special exemption is used.

RoHS
APEM switches are RoHS compliant. Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive or RoHS) was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union. ROHS is often referred to as the lead-free directive, but it restricts the user of the following six substances:
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)
- Hexavalent chrimium (Cr 6+)
- Polybrominated diphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated diphenyl (PBDE)
